The model home is opening again next tuesday for shooting the first scenes of the season 4. Will Arnett, who's curently working on the Up All Night show, gives us more detail about the new season and how he'll appear during the whole season.
The Television Critics Association visited the set of “Up All Night” today, and Will Arnett revealed that he is getting ready to shoot the new episodes of “Arrested Development” that Mitch Hurwitz wrote. Hurwitz had said each episode would focus on one member of the Bluth family, but Arnett’s schedule suggests that he will be around for multiple episodes.
“That’s kind of the idea [one character per episode], and then there are bits and pieces of people,” Arnett said after the “Up All Night” panel. “Yeah, it’s going to be interesting. It’s a totally different way to tell the story of these people and these characters and these relationships that we like, so it’s interesting.”
During the panel Arnett had said he’s filling all of his free time with “Arrested Development.”
“Currently the plan is to shoot on hiatuses and weekends because we start that in six days, it’s next Tuesday we start. That’s the current plan, Saturdays and stuff. It’s going to be insane. It’s super well organized. I don't know if you’ve met Mitch Hurwitz.”
After the panel, the reporter that asked Arnett about his schedule followed up to confirm whether or not Hurtwitz was really disorganized. “I’m kidding,” Arnett said. “I want you to print that so he reads it, but no, no, no. He’s not disorganized. He’s a prolific creator and there’s just always a ton of stuff and it’s a lot.”
Arnett confirmed he has read some of the new “Arrested Development” scripts and that he is very happy with them. "Arrested Development" season four is expected to debut on Netflix in 2013.

News of the day ! Now it's more than official, it's a reality ladies and gentleman, Arrested Development will have a season 4 who's going to be aired on Netflix early 2013.
Since the beginning of the blog these last months are the most exciting with all the great news. As usual you can read an article about this news :
Netflix is licensing new episodes of the TV series "Arrested Development" from 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Television.
The sides struck a deal with the streaming service that will launch new episodes of the Emmy-winning comedy in early 2013, the studio confirmed.
The prospect of "Development" returning in both TV and film forms was raised last month when the show's creator, Mitch Hurwitz, announced in an appearance at the New Yorker Festival that he was intent on reuniting the series' original actors, including Jason Bateman and Will Arnett, for another go-round.
"Arrested" had a critically acclaimed run on Fox from 2003-2006, but the network canceled the series given its ratings were always modest at best.
All of the series regulars have expressed interest in returning and are expected back, though no deals have been done. How that will work will be interesting given many of them are maintaing busy careers. "Arrested" player Arnett is currently on the NBC series "Up All Night" and another alum, Portia de Rossi, is attached to a high-profile project in development at the Peacock.
Where this leaves the proposed "Arrested" feature film isn't clear. While one source familiar with the project said it is currently in development at Fox Searchlight, another source at the studio denied it was an active project. Hurwitz's vision of the film was to schedule it after the series run in order to drive interest at the box office, but at the very least it seems that the film and TV aren't attached to each other.
Hurwitz was executive producer of "Arrested" with Imagine principals Ron Howard and Brian Grazer. The producing pair issued a statement: "Bringing a series back from cancellation almost never happens, but then, 'Arrested' always was about as unconventional as they get, so it seems totally appropriate that this show that broke the mold is smashing it to pieces once again."
That Netflix has emerged the winner of a bidding war that reportedly included pay-TV player Showtime will be seen as a real coup for the service, which already gave Hollywood notice in March that it was in the original programming business in a big way when it ordered a 22-episode adaptation of the BBC drama "House of Cards" set to premiere next year. Analysts estimated "Cards," which comes with Kevin Spacey attached to star and David Fincher to executive produce, cost Netflix $100 million to get the rights from Media Rights Capital.
Financial terms of the "Arrested" deal are not known but could be substantial given the caliber of talent involved.
While Netflix's market capitalization was sent reeling in recent months after ill-advised decisions regarding its pricing, the need for original programming is all the greater as content companies have held the line at giving the service TV shows that are in-season.
Since Netflix started licensing original series, the service has been seen as a potential savior for ill-fated productions that get shuttered over the objections of a cult following too narrow to sustain them. But rescuing a show that comes with a built-in audience--albeit one too small to survive on TV--may be a safer strategy than creating a new property out of whole cloth.
The hedge on "Cards" is that its narrative has already gotten a test run in the U.K. but with different talent on both sides of the camera.
Ted Sarandos, chief content officer at Netflix said of the deal, "'Arrested Development is one of the finest American comedies in TV history and its return through Netflix is a perfect example of how we are working closely with studios and networks to provide consumers with entertainment they love,'" said Ted Sarandos, Netflix Chief Content Officer.
The return of "Development" would be a stunner given it is rare that a series comes back after a protracted absence, though 20th and Fox have seen precedent here: Animated series "Family Guy" was canceled in 2001 only to be revived three years later after the series fared well on DVD and in syndication.
Right now I'm really really upset, how NBC dares to put their best show Community on hiatus ?
That's horrible, I know they did the same with Parks and Recreation but all the Community's fans are worried.
So Arrested Development's fans I want you to help me to save Community by signing this petition Save Community, you can also use your Twitter account to support the show with #SaveCommunity and #SixSeasonsAndAMovie. Thanks !

What can I say really ? Isn't the best news Of 2011 ? Just read this Huffington Post article and enjoy !
"Arrested Development" is back. Really.
The cult classic television comedy about the travails of the rich, zany Bluth family, cancelled in 2006 after three seasons, will produce nine to ten new episodes and a movie, it was announced at The New Yorker Festival on Sunday.
"It's true. We will do 10 episodes and the movie. Probably shoot them all together next summer for a release in early '13. VERY excited!" leading actor Jason Bateman tweeted.
Smart and irreverent, the show also starred David Cross, Michael Cera, Portia De Rossi, Tony Hale, Alia Shawkat and Jessica Walter. It was executive produced by Ron Howard, who also provided narration.
Since its cancellation, the show has earned a fervent fan base, with constant speculation as to when -- or whether -- the show would be adapted into a movie. The cast, led by Bateman and Will Arnett, has frequently promised that a movie would be coming, though until now they've been unable to offer any specifics. As it turns out, that can be attributed to the difficulties of intellectual properties and broadcast rights.
“We don’t completely own the property, there are business people involved and studios and that kind of thing," creator Mitch Hurwitz said on Sunday, as quoted by the NY Times. "Just creatively, I have been working on the screenplay for a long time and found that as time went by, there was so much more to the story. In fact, where everyone’s been for five years became a big part of the story. So in working on the screenplay, I found even if I just gave five minutes per character to that back story, we were halfway through the movie before the characters got together.”
As such, the plan is to have one episode explore each character as a lead-in to the film.
Just over two weeks ago, Bateman, who starred this summer's comedies, "Horrible Bosses" and "The Change-Up," told Entertainment Weekly that he was frustrated that he couldn't give more details, but assure a film would be forthcoming.
In February, Hurwitz told Digital Spy that the process was underway, but couldn't say more.
"I don't like to toy with the affections of our fans," he said. "They've been so supportive and we're so grateful, so I kind of hate to answer the question until I can say, 'Yep, we've shot it, it opens next week'. Otherwise it feels like we're toying with people and we do not mean to do that. It has just taken a while to get it going."
In July, Jeffrey Tambor, who plays the show's patriarch, told The Huffington Post, "It's all going straight, everyone's on board, I know they're writing, and maybe next time this year we'll be having this conversation."
I can't believe that I didn't see these videos where Mitch talks about the movie, for once it's not Jason Bateman. In these videos Mitch confirms officially the movie production and he gives us some news. What do we learn here ? Two main informations :
A trailer will come out this year
A lot of guests will be in the movie
So we can assume that the shooting is going to start soon enough. We can also imagine to see some guests coming back such as : Zach Braff, Ben Stiller, Charlize Theron or Carl Weather ! We're gonna have only one movie, I think, so it's the occasion to reunite everyone. Here the fist vid :
And the second :
There are other vids from the same interview, I'll talk about it later.
Do you like Demotivational Posters ? I love it, it's so funny and clever. I saw one of my first posters during two shows : Futurama and Arrested Development. In AD the poster represents a lot what George Michael's type of education looks like. Children's education is one of the main theme of AD.
So on internet we can find really great demotivational posters about Arrested Development :
Analrapist
So true !
There's gotta be a better way to say that...
I'll be in the hospital bar !
These are just a preview of what you can find on the internet, if you find great demotivational posters or Meme about Arrested Development please send them to me !
Thank god we have Jason Bateman to keep us in touch with the Arrested Development Movie news ! In every interview he keeps telling us that the movie is still in production and apparently Mitch "wants" to start the shooting this year...
Jason Bateman might be a familiar face this summer with his two big comedies — Horrible Bosses and The Change-Up — in theaters, but many of his fans just want to know one thing: what the heck is up with the long-rumored Arrested Development movie? ”I have no update at all,” says Bateman. “As far as I know, [creator] Mitchell Hurwitz is working on the script and he wants to start shooting at some point this year. So while I haven’t heard anything new, I haven’t heard anything that would contradict that.”
Here we go for some good news about one of the funniest Bluth family members. George Senior aka Jeffrey Tambor is going to act in a play called "La Cage aux Folles". In France, where I live, it's a famous and funny play. It's also a great movie. Seeing Jeffrey Tambor in this kind of play is great, I hope some of us will go to see him.
You can find more details in this L.A Times article :
Jeffrey Tambor may not be a household name, but his face is instantly recognizable thanks to his Emmy-nominated performances in the cult TV series "Arrested Development" and "The Larry Sanders Show." In February, Tambor will be leaving the world of TV temporarily behind to return to Broadway in the current revival of "La Cage aux Folles."
Tambor will be replacing another TV veteran, Kelsey Grammer, in the role of Georges. Tambor is set to take over the role Feb. 15, and will star opposite Harvey Fierstein, who is replacing Tony-winner Douglas Hodge in the part of Albin. "La Cage," at the Longacre Theatre, won the award for best revival at this year's Tonys and was earlier produced at the Menier Chocolate Factory in London.
Fierstein wrote the book for "La Cage" and will be performing in the musical for the first time. "La Cage" had its Broadway debut in 1983, winning the Tony for new musical. The current revival opened in New York in April.
Tambor has previously appeared on Broadway in Larry Gelbart's"Sly Fox" in 1976 and a revival of David Mamet's "Glengarry Glen Ross" in 2005. The actor has received six Emmy nominations for supporting actor in a comedy for "The Larry Sanders Show" and "Arrested Development."
His recent film work includes "The Hangover" and the new Disney animated film "Tangled."
Have you seen this before ? This is the original artwork for the 1st season DVD, I'm sure you've the DVD at your place so compare them.
I really like this one, so funny !
"These are balls ?! "
If you want to see the picture in the original size just clic on it ! Soon I'll make an article about all the Arrested Development's DVD editions that we can find on internet. That's a idea for a present...It's almost christmas !
"Yeah, the guy wearing the $4,000 suit is going to do a new TV Show...COME ON !"
Now let's talk about Running Wilde, the last baby of Mitch Hurwitz and Will Arnett.Everybody was waiting for it but did we really need Running Wilde ?The answer is "yes" we always need a new show wrote by Mitch but no necesseraly on Fox. Arrested Development was to clever for the channel, "Sit Down, Shut Up" was not made for Fox and Running Wilde was simply useless for Fox. At first there was a contract signed between Will Arnett and Fox (see the article about it) and Will was free to choose whoever he wants to work with. With no surprises he choose Mitch Hurwitz and together they made Running Wilde who was called at first "Wilde Kingdom".
Let's see the plot :
The show centers on Steve Wilde (Will Arnett), a self-centered billionaire who is clueless about most things in the real world. Emmy Kadubic (Keri Russell) is Steve's high school sweetheart. When the series opens, she is an activist that lives in a rain forest along with her fiance Andy (David Cross) and daughter Puddle (Stefania Owen). Puddle refuses to speak at first, as an attempt to get her mother to move out of the rain forest. Steve invites Emmy to a party where he is to accept an award. Surprised at the thought that Steve has finally become a better person, she decides to go. When at the party, she soon finds out that he is giving the award to himself, which is more like what she expected.
The next day Puddle speaks to a drunk Steve about what she thinks about living in the jungle. Steve briefly thinks that the conversation is telepathic even though her mouth is moving. Steve and Puddle stage an intricate scenario to fool Emmy into to staying at Steve's mansion, which fails. Emmy scolds Steve about taking advantage of a young girl who does not speak, and Steve takes the blame for Puddle's plan. This causes Puddle to speak to her mother, telling her that Steve must have some morality left in him, since he lied for her without gaining anything. Puddle explains that she doesn't like living in a jungle, and she wants to stay with Steve. Emmy agrees to stay for Puddle, but only in the treehouse Steve originally built for her when they were young. As Steve tries to win back Emmy, she vows to change him into a more selfless person.
The idea was clearly good and the material was here to do a good show, maybe not as great as Arrested but still a good show.
At this point I was hopefull about the whole thing. Meanwhille the AD's movie was put on "pause".
And then came out the first trailer :
After seeing this I was disappointed and scared for the show. The trailer was simply not good at all, what a shame for us fans of Mitch.
But the airing date for the first episode came and I watched it, maybe I was in a good mood that day but I've appreciate it. Don't misunderstand my words, appreciate doesn't mean it was really good.
In fact the pilot was far from being great, it was just good and I'll tell more about it on a future article.
Even if I liked it, the critics were not enthusiast about Running Wilde :
Wilde is a fast-paced grab bag; it's hard not to like a character who dunderheadedly imports an Amazon tribe to a five-star hotel rather than tell his dad not to drill on their land, all to prove he's a decent guy. But for now, audiences will have to sort through the good stuff and toss aside the lumps of coal that keep "Wilde" from being a truly wild ride.
The writing here isn't very snappy, Steve and Emmy are one-dimensional cutouts and Russell, the former "Felicity" star, looks uncomfortable playing it for laughs.
While the reworked pilot is a marked improvement over the original, the parts are still not working together, but you'd like to believe they will be in a few episodes.
Good comedies take a lot of work, but that strain shouldn't show up on the screen. It pains me to say that, despite all the obvious effort, I can't see how Running Wilde could get significantly better.
So why everyone was disappointed ?
The first lead for an answer is the "Arrested Development Effect" (I'm gonna call that the "ADE"), when we talk about Mitch, Will, Jason Bateman and the whole AD's cast we always mention Arrested Development and how great the sho was. It's great to not forget the serie but It's a trap for Mitch and Will in the Running Wilde's case. We were waiting for a second Arrested Development but it's not gonna happen, whatever you think. Arrested was a financial waste for Fox and they're not stupid to ask Mitch for a show like that again. C'mon ! Do you really think it was possible ?
Mitch and Will understood that very well and like the Coca Light they made an "Arrested Development Light", a serie with no sugar. No sugar ? No real interest for us.
Once again the strategy was wrong, people were not interested by RW because of is lack of taste, but Mitch said interesting things about his strategy, I'll talk about that after.
Seriously if you've watched the show you're gonna be agree with me, the serie seemed so faker. Everything was superficial, maybe it was an artistic choice to highlight the superficiality of Steve Wilde ? But I don't think so. We don't believe in the universe of the show.
But not everything in Running Wilde was bad, they were some good ideas and some good episodes like :
No seriously you'll see in future articles about the episodes.
So I've said that the strategy wasn't good, do we really know what is the real strategy ?
Month ago I read an interview of Mitch, for Running Wilde he wanted to start the show in a simple way and put everything in place gradually unlike AD where all the pieces were there at the beginning.
To conclude I would say that Running Wilde is not good but is not bad also, Mitch & Will missed the potential of the show.
Hi everyone, these days I really miss Arrested Development and I'm thinking about get back to basics like watch again the 3 seasons and make this blog alive again !
Now I'm here !
Hum...well ok you don't believe right now but you'll see.
But I have to give you an explanation about the reasons of the lack of updates. It's simple :
The news are still the same !
And I was like "okay it's not my priority to work on the blog..." So I apologize about that and I'm back for real and for good.
And now let's see the latest news :
The first is a news for the website TvGawker and Will Arnett is talking :
Arrested Development movie updates? We're in the midst of Running Wilde and we're unable to focus on anything else, but it is something we plan on doing. I can't really speak to Mitch's timetable but I would suspect that it's going to be sooner rather than later now, I will say that.
David Cross said in an interview that he knows the storyline and it's "awesome." Yeah there's some really funny stuff, some really funny ideas being kicked around. It's Mitch's call on how anything goes.
Can you give us a hint? A taste? Something? I really can't, it would be far too premature. But if it goes in the direction Mitch is suggesting, it'll be super hilarious.
It seems that the AD's movie is still alive ! You want another proof ? Let see a declaration of Mitch Hurwitz from AVClub :
AVC: So what is the status of the film? It’s the inescapable question.
MH: It is my absolute next priority. I’ve said we’re about halfway through it, but I’m including a lot of the stories as part of that half. It’s the next thing I do as soon as I get a breath from [Running Wilde]. If it gets picked up for a back nine, I’ll have people in place to do this and I can go finish that. It is my biggest creative priority. It’s very frustrating I haven’t had time to do it. I’ve been having to do other things, but it’s time and money. It’s part of, you know, the thing I’ve built for myself here. This house of cards. I have to say, people think I’m more successful than I am, and I appreciate that. I think. I don’t know if I care I, guess. But I’m a working guy. I’m not joking, though, if I had Cocoon, all bets would be off.
Keep in touch with the blog, I'll talk about Running Wilde and the Arrested Development Doc.
So so so...it been a long since I let an article about the Arrested Development Movie ! The main reason is the lack of news, that's the clue. Nobody talks a lot about the movie and Mitch Hurwitz seems to be focus on his new TV show with Will Arnett. You can read an article about the situation :
The push for an Arrested Development movie is beginning to feel a bit like one of Gob Bluth’s magic tricks -I’m sorry, “illusions.” It starts off promising, dazzles fans of the series for a brief moment…and then the bottom falls out.
A few months back, the Arrested Development movie appeared to be gaining momentum: Mitchell Hurtwitz, the show’s creator, was reportedly busy working on the script and Will Arnett went on-record claiming the movie would be made this year.
Now we’re hearing reports that the project has been pushed back…yet again.
Speaking with MTV, Jason Bateman, who played Michael Bluth in the TV series, restated the tentative schedule for the film: “Nothing new. We’re hoping for the end of the year.”
However, the actor went on to clarify one factor in the delay: Hurtwitz has a new sitcom in the works…starring Will Arnett.
According to The Hollywood Reporter the still untitled Hurtwitz project has “Arnett as a rich Beverly Hills jackass who falls in love with a charitable tree-hugging woman who can’t stand his lifestyle or values.”
“[The new] show with Arnett has pushed [Arrested] another few months,” Bateman said.
If we received a banana for every time we’ve heard that the Arrested Development movie was going to be pushed back another few months, we’d have enough bananas to open our own Frozen Banana stand by now (get it?).
Bateman was still optimistic that the cast and creators will get the Arrested Development movie into theaters in the near future – “It’s still coming.”
Are you as optimistic as Bateman? Or is your interest beginning to wane?
Now a short video with Jason Bateman at the Sunday's Academy Awards:
