The Arrested Development Movie : Not Dead !

At the "Extract" panel for the Comic-Con in San Diego someone asked Jason Bateman about the Arrested Development movie and he confirms that the movie isn't dead and the process will take between 6 to 18 months to see the movie came up in theaters.

Jason Bateman declaration at the Comic-Con :

"It's not dead, there's no reason to think that it's dead; Mitch Hurwitz had a very busy TV pilot season, so now that part of the year is over, it may start moving. Or it may not. I spoke to Ron Howard and Brian Grazer a week ago and they're still very behind it, and they're still pushing the idea on their bosses, who apparently rule the WORLD. It could be as soon as the next six months, or as late as the next 18."

You can read here one of the article we can find on internet who talks about it :

Recently, despite constant promises from the cast, things haven’t looked good for the long lusted after Arrested Development movie. Though they finally got Michael Cera on board earlier this year, nothing really ever seemed to come of it. But today while sitting in on the Comic Con panel for Mike Judge’s new movie Extract, Arrested star Jason Bateman assured fans that it’s not time to give up yet.

Bateman says, “No breaking news, but its not dead. Mitch H. had a very active TV season. Things are clearing up for him so he can write the script." And of course should he ever write the script, he insists they’re all still interested. "The will is there from all of us. Grazer and Howard are behind it."

So come one, we’ve been hearing about this movie forever now and nothing has come of it. Give us a timeline man! He does. “Hopefully as early as the next 6 months as late as 18." Is that 6 months till someone actually starts writing the script or until they actually start shooting the thing? And once they do start making it, what’s it going to be about? Turning a weekly television series into a 90-minute movie is no small feat.

Bateman says they have ideas about where the movie can go. He reveals, "If you look at the last scene of the last episode, with Funke pitching the idea of a show about what happened and Howard says no, maybe a movie, that kind of dovetails what may happen with a movie."

"Ctrl" Tony Hale !

"Mother !"

If you miss Tony Hale you have to watch his new Web series called "Ctrl" on nbc.com where he plays an office nerd named Stuart.

The show is based on a short film named "Ctrl Z" in which Tony Hale also starred.

On the Chicagonow blog we can read an interview where Tony talks about his disire to play Buster again in the movie.

You can read the whole article here :

Tony Hale is ready for the "Arrested Development" movie.

"I want to wear Buster's hand again," he told me during a phone interview on Thursday. "I want to wear the hook again."

Hale was on a call with journalists promoting his new Web series at nbc.com, "Ctrl," but I had to ask him about the film version of the cult TV series in which he played Buster Bluth, the socially inept and panic-attack prone youngest Bluth brother whose left hand was bitten off by a seal.

"We all want it to happen," he said of the cast members and the show's creator, Mitchell Hurwitz. "It's just a matter of getting everybody's schedule together. Everybody's kind of doing their own thing."

He said coordinating the schedules of so many cast members--Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Will Arnett, Jeffrey Tambor, David Cross, Alia Shawkat, Portia de Rossi, Jessica Walter and Justin Lee--is 'kind of a feat."

"But we're definitely all on board and the script is supposedly in the works," he said. "We all want it to happen, so we'll see--hopefully."

Hale does know that he will be returning to "Chuck" next season, saying that filming for the NBC comedy begins Aug. 6. He plays Emmett Milbarge, who took over the Buy More temporarily and caused all kinds of trouble for Chuck, Big Mike, Morgan, Lester and Jeff.

"I don't really know where the storyline is going, but I know I'm doing the first episode," Hale said. "I don't know what's going to happen to Emmett. He's obviously caused some drama in the Buy More, so we'll see what happens to him."

Looking forward to it.

So take a look to "Ctrl", I really like it.

Jason Bateman in DETAILS

It's really really great, Jason Bateman gives an interview in the new DETAILS and for the occasion he talks a little bit about the Arrested Development's Movie !

There is no big news but it still good to hear about the movie, so you can read what Jason says and you can watch the video where he also talks about it.

JASON BATEMAN'S ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT: NOT ALL FORMER CHILD STARS ARE FELONSItalique
At age 40, Jason Bateman has finally hit his stride, starring in a slew of upcoming films— including The Baster, opposite Jennifer Aniston

"I think someone's gonna blow someone away in here," Bateman whispers. "Do we have to stay?"

We decamp to the Mexican restaurant around the corner, and Bateman, clad in a hoodie, T-shirt, jeans, and slip-ons, finally looks at ease. When my queso fundido arrives bubbling in a festive ceramic bowl perched above a tea light, he deadpans, "I'm sorry, are we celebrating something?"

"You know, it's funny," says the bartender, sliding Bateman a Diet Coke, "Ice the bounty hunter was in here just last week."

"The guy with the mullet," says Bateman with a signature eyebrow raise.

"No, Ice the bounty hunter? The guy Gob hires to follow you to Mexico in Season 2?"

"Oh, Ice the bounty hunter. I need to watch those fuckin' episodes again." This is at least the eighth time today a stranger has accosted the boyish-looking 40-year-old actor about Arrested Development usually to ask whether rumors of a movie spin-off are true. Had such attention been paid during the series' run on Fox, the show would not have ended as ignominiously as it did, in 2006. But however dramatically the comedy reversed Bateman's fortunes, his recall for its absurd arcana lags behind that of the typical fan.

"We're gonna make the movie," Bateman offers. "Mitch Hurwitz is just starting to write it. It'll be out in a year and a half."

Pretty exciting isn't it ?

And to conclude you can watch the video :

Loose seal. Watch out for loose seal !

Buster : I don't care about Lucille. She lies !

Thanks to missdubois on the IMDB board, she found a strange article on the Metro newspaper about a Sea Lion who gone crazy in Orange County. It is GOB fault ?

So I let you read the whole article, it's pretty incredible :

A fugitive sea lion nearly gave police officers the slip after taking control of their speedboat.

The resourceful animal, nicknamed Snoopy, saw the net closing in and decided to hijack the patrol boat, managing to steer it, move the throttle and even sound the siren.

But he didn't get far. Alerted by the rather amateurish getaway effort, officers moved in and gave him a few squirts with a garden hose to encourage him back to his ocean home.

The Orange County sheriffs had originally hauled Snoopy on board after reports he had frightened a young boy by biting his trouser leg in Newport Harbour, California.

But, while they made ready to depart, the crafty sea lion set off for the captain's chair, said Deputy Jim Slikker.

'He took exception to the law enforcement officers sent to tackle him,' said watch commander Sgt Fritz Von Rettberg.

'He managed to steer the boat and even started the throttle but we reached him before he got the lights on.'

Snoopy has kept his head down since last month's incident but forensic clues taken from the scene would help track him down, added Sgt Von Rettberg.

I don't know if it's a fake or not, but it can be an disguise promotion for the future Arrested Development movie. It's just a theory but this story is really weird don't you think ?
